Why does God bless us? Is it because of what we do, or because of who He is? In this reflection from St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Jackson, Michigan, we hear the powerful story of the Woman at the Well from the Gospel of John. Jesus intentionally travels through Samaria to encounter one broken soul and offer her the gift of “living water.” This homily reminds us that the real reason for every blessing in our lives is simple: God loves us. We are also reminded that the Church exists to evangelize, and that the Mass is at the heart of that mission. From the altar we are sent into the world to share the Good News and bring others to the well of living water. Watch, reflect, and be encouraged to share the love of Christ with others.
