Live music act | Black Barons | TEDxZurich

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. “The Black Barons” is a Zurich-based authentic as well as progressive country and rockabilly band. Initially starting out as a studio project launched by singer-songwriter Florian C. Roth and his former schoolmate Kathleen Litzenberger, the musical aggregation was later on completed by Julian “Jules” Szenogrady (drums), Mateo Chacon-Pino (bass) and eventually Max Kämmerling (guitar). Fascinated by the simplicity just as the uniqueness of Johnny Cash’s Tennessee Three sound, the band perfected the original country and rockabilly style which can be heard on its sold out EP “Rockabilly Classics” released in 2010. Florian C. Roth’s authentic voice was soon referred to as bearing a distant memory of “the voice of America’s” vibrant baritone. As Max Kämmerling moved in as a replacement for Dave Hauser, his extraordinary skills on electric guitar gave the band’s style a more progressive approach and the road was paved for its current characteristic sound. It opened the door for “The Black Barons” to reach a wide audience in clubs, festivals but also at high class events such as White Turf St. Moritz. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
