This is a tutorial that explains how to manually tune and edit the Motronic 4.1 ECU in an Alfa 75 TS. ECU used in video is 0261200108 ('108) This video uses the TunerPro XDF file that was created by alfabb.com poster festy. festy has put MUCH work into creating a DIY tunable base for owners of the 8v TS engine. This is the first stage where a user is able to DIY tune their own ECU using a few manual tools. Real-time data logging and live tuning is in the works sometime in the future. The idea of this is to allow owners to have some control over the Motronic system with engine modifications, rather than converting to an expensive after-market injection system. This tutorial is designed to compliment "Offline tuning of the ML4.1 TS system - a very brief introduction" at http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/engin... Full thread discussion at: http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/engin... I have simply taken what festy has discovered about the Motronic ECU and placed it into a 20 minute tutorial video. This will allow people who want to have a play with the settings a (fairly) comprehensive walkthrough from start to finish. As noted, only the VVT mechanism and the rev-limiter are worth playing around with without some data-logging functionality. The engine idle rpm table (based on temp) was successfully changed in another test. RESOURCES: A 27SF512 flash chip (drop in replacement for the 27C256 EPROM, can be found on eBay for cheap Willem style EPROM Programmer: cheap imitation parallel bus programmers can be found on eBay for $30-60AUD (search Willem Programmer, be sure to find one with the same architecture as that in the video) PC or laptop with a parallel/printer port (NOTE: A USB TO PARALLEL WILL NOT WORK, as it uses different addressing to the on-board addressing the Willem software is programmed for) Flat-head screw driver A piece of pliable metal or a wide enough screw-driver that can jump two of the Programmer's voltage pins (diagram provided in video). Software and XDF file location: TunerPro: http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadApp.htm 'latest' XDF and '181 bin downloadable zip: www.festy.org/ml41/AlfaTS_191.zip Willem software should come with your programmer on a CD. Other notes: 1. I have not tested the Willem software on Windows 7. Theory being if your PC is still lucky enough to have a parallel port, it would be running some form of Windows XP 2. TunerPro is compatible with XP also, it's just for filming my old Pentium III PC could not handle the recording software very well and the framerate was poor, so I filmed on my Windows 7 laptop. I hope this helps people get onto the right track. Thanks!
