LD's recovery day by day from Idiopathic Vestibular Syndrome in Dogs

After a sudden onset of frightening symptoms, our senior dog was rushed to the animal hospital and diagnosed with Idiopathic Vestibular Syndrome. Also referred to as Old Dog Vestibular Disease, an Acute Vestibular Attack or Vertigo in Dogs, to name a few. After a thorough physical exam and blood work he was discharged home with two days of anti-nausea medication. Although very scary to witness, reassurance was given that symptoms usually resolve completely with time. LD began to show significant progress in just 24 hours. After one week he still wobbles when he moves his head quickly and struggles with jumping and head shaking, but this is expected to continue improving over the coming weeks.
