[song] 5AM by Amber Run [show] Teen Wolf (season 5) [ship] Sciles [character] Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) and Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O'brien) I focused this video around a scene back in season 3 (episode: Tattoo) where Scott talks about why he wanted a tattoo so badly. I thought it worked pretty well with the nature of Scott and Stiles relationship, the idea of something permanent and everlasting, perennial. Yet we see with this season, something we never thought would happen: the supposed end to what felt like a lasting friendship, now was an ephemeral illusion of a bond. I also really liked the other thing Scott said (which Stiles finished) in the season 3 episode, about tattoos being "an open wound." This translation of the word seems to oppose the other meaning "to leave a mark" in Tahitian. This meaning, correlates the word perennial, as leaving a mark can be considered a permanent thing in the context of tattooing. And the ephemeral nature to Scott and Stiles friendship leaves an open wound in our hearts as much as theirs. While all seems over for now, we are sure these two could never stay pulled apart. So the title is still PERENNIAL, as we all know there is no way a bond like Scott and Stiles, could ever be anything less then everlasting.
