The Final Metamorphosis | Gouache Painting Inspired by a Personal Story

The Final Metamorphosis is on my website : https://weeartclub.ch/products/la-met... Some paintings are born from a landscape. Others are born from a story. In this video I present “The Final Metamorphosis”, a gouache painting (18 × 24 cm) and the first piece of a new series I’m starting. The painting shows an old tree standing alone on a hill, deeply rooted in the earth. Under its branches appears a chrysalis — a butterfly in the middle of its transformation. Not yet free, but already leaving behind what once confined it. This artwork was created as a tribute to my grandmother. During the last years of her life, her memory slowly faded because of Alzheimer’s disease. It sometimes felt as if a part of her was still there… but trapped in a body that could no longer follow. That image stayed with me. The tree represents the roots she leaves behind.
