This is a POV driver view around 7:15 a.m. of I-55 south from I-270 to the exit for Imperial Main St. (for the town of Imperial, MO) in greater St. Louis, MO on 12/4/25 in relative darkness. This shows how fast-flowing the traffic is in both directions even though this would be considered in my mind rush hour. While southbound away from St. Louis City is indeed less heavy, even northbound towards St. Louis City does not seem to be congested at all. I believe people in many other metro areas would be delighted to have commutes this free of congestion as happens in St. Louis now fairly often. I must say, pre-Covid, I'm pretty sure it didn't flow this well. I am certainly not saying there are not times when it is congested but rather that this particular morning it is not and since we have been driving to Imperial Animal Hospital for over 10 years now, I have driven it at virtually every time of day and it has never been horrible that I recall. Also, notice how dark it is at 7:15 in the morning without daylight saving time. Ignore the time stamp of the video because I think I forgot to set it to non-daylight savings time. Reminder to self--need to check that. As an FYI, when we cross the Meramec River just north of Arnold, we switch from St. Louis County to Jefferson County. On a personal note and quite possibly simply because I have never been a "morning person," I found it more than a little disquieting to be this dark this late in the morning and would prefer year round daylight savings time. The meowing you here is our kitties, Benji and Sami, going to the vet at Imperial. There are obviously many closer vets but Imperial has taken such good care of all 7 of our pets so far, we feel it is worth the extra drive. Although I have taken pets to Imperial at all times of the day over the years, I don't recall doing it this early during winter without daylight savings time.
