This video is just me in the garden harvesting flowers. Nothing fancy, no talking, no music, just the real sounds of me moving through the beds and snipping stems. I’m walking around, checking each plant, fighting the bees, and picking the blooms that look ready to bring inside. I start at the community garden because everything is at their peak right now over there, full of color and in all different shapes and sizes. Then I move over to my own backyard because the sunshine hits those raised beds just a bit later and it gives me time to do my thing in the shade. This is the kind of gardening task I really enjoy because it’s simple. I don’t need to think too hard or follow a plan. I just look at each flower (dahlias, zinnias, cosmos, marigolds, celosia, strawflowers), decide if it’s ready, and cut it if it is. Some are perfect, some are a little uneven or floppy, but that’s part of the charm. You’ll see me walking back and forth, moving between the beds, and building up an armful of flowers as I go. Sometimes I stop to look at a plant for a while or adjust where I’m holding everything so it doesn’t get crushed. The video is quiet on purpose, I wanted to share the process as it actually is, without extra distractions. By the time I’m done, I have a pretty big bunch of blooms. These will go to my roadside stand, into bouquets, or into vases around my home. This is one of those everyday garden moments that’s not dramatic or complicated, but it’s one of my favorites. If you like watching slow, real gardening work, you might enjoy this one. It’s just a peaceful look at harvesting flowers in my own backyard.
