I Tried to Cook a Full Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner 😅 | Year of the Horse in Sydney!

This is everything I ate for our Chinese New Year Eve Dinner! 🧧 Typically how we would celebrate the Year of the Horse is to have a hugeee dinner on the eve of the new year - otherwise known as the reunion dinner. When I was younger, we would have it with all our extended family and it’s just as big, if not bigger than Christmas. This year, my parents aren’t in Sydney during Chinese New Year eve, but I really wanted to continue to tradition - so I attempted to make as many dishes as I could for it. (I cheated a little and bought some things too 😜) A lot of the dishes have some sort of symbolism to it - all good wishes, and here’s everything I we had: 1. Prawn Vermicelli Pot 2. Raddish Cake 3. Char Siu (BBQ Pork) 4. San Choi Bow (Lettuce Wraps) 5. Bok Choy w/ shiitake mushrooms 6. Salmon sashimi 7. ABC Soup (the only soup I know how to make) 8.
