Delivered by *Jagdish Shyam Das* on the occasion of *Phulon Ki Holi Festival* at *ISKCON Muzaffarpur* In this enlightening lecture, Jagdish Shyam Das explains the *internal and external reasons for the appearance of* Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, as revealed in the teachings of Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami in the Chaitanya Charitamrita and Lochan Das Thakur in Chaitanya Mangal. The *external reason* for Lord Chaitanya’s appearance was to spread the *yuga-dharma — the congregational chanting of the holy names (Harinam Sankirtan)* and to distribute the mercy of Krishna freely to all living beings. The *internal reasons* are even deeper and more confidential. Lord Krishna desired to experience: • The glory of the love of Srimati Radharani • The wonderful qualities in Him that She relishes • The happiness She feels when She experiences His love Therefore Krishna appeared in the mood and golden complexion of Srimati Radharani as *Lord Gauranga**, inaugurating the **Sankirtan movement* for the benefit of the entire world.
