Liz Blair, Ecologist with Ecosystem Thinking, speaks about farm productivity and building farm natural capital profiles. The webinar covers natural ecosystems on farm, measuring, baselining and describing the condition of natural ecosystems, how Environmental Accounts are developed using the Accounting for Nature framework, how understanding and scoring natural ecosystems on the farm can be foundational for planning and how enhancing and restoring habitat can improve Environmental Accounts. This is the third recorded webinar in North West Local Land Services' 'Managing natural assets on farm' webinar series, which ran in December 2025. Liz Blair works as an independent ecologist and facilitator across North West NSW. Most of her work revolves around fauna and flora assessment on working farms. Liz has worked across the North West, based out of Inverell for the last 25 years, previously as a facilitator, ecologist and manager with CMA’s, Local Land Services and the Biodiversity Conservation Trust. Liz is an Accredited Expert with Accounting for Nature and has recently started helping farmers prepare Natural Capital Accounts in preparation for the emerging Nature Repair Market. This video is supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program and delivered by North West Local Land Services, a member of the Commonwealth Regional Delivery Partners panel.
