Mazen Kerbaj (1975, Beirut, Lebanon) is an author of comics, painter and musician, who has written 15 books that have been translated in over ten languages, and his work was exhibited in several galleries, museums, festivals and fairs all over the world. A central theme of his work, both in visual arts and in music, is capturing time. In his personal and poetical presentation, he discussed how time passed differently in each art form and how and why comics formed a unique (and superior) form of art. Being an artist and illustrator himself, Kerbaj offered a meditation on the meaning of comics as a way of communication and storytelling – in different cultures and disciplines.
