GOD CAN RESTORE WHAT SEEMS LOST Live Out Your Calling – Part Four 2 Kings 6:1-7 February 1, 2026 6:1 The company of the prophets said to Elisha, “Look, the place where we meet with you is too small for us. 2 Let us go to the Jordan, where each of us can get a pole; and let us build a place there for us to meet.” And he said, “Go.” 3 Then one of them said, “Won’t you please come with your servants?” “I will,” Elisha replied. 4 And he went with them. They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees. 5 As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water. “Oh no, my lord!” he cried out. “It was borrowed!” 6 The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. 7 “Lift it out,” he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it. God will help you find what you didn’t (mean to lose). When they arrived at the Jordan, [the prophets] began cutting down trees. But as one of them was cutting a tree, his ax head fell into the river. “Oh, sir!” he cried. “It was a borrowed ax!” “Where did it fall??” the man of God asked. When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it into the water at that spot. Then the ax head floated to the surface. “Grab it,” Elisha said. And the man reached out and grabbed it. – 2 Kings 6:4-7 NLT Sometimes the smallest miracle carries the biggest message. If it matters to you, it (matters to God). What have you lost that God wants to restore? Be honest about (where you lost it). The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” – 2 Kings 6:6 NIV Do your part to take back what you lost. When [the man] showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. “Lift it out,” he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it. – 2 Kings 6:6- 7 NIV And the God of all grace…will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. – 1 Peter 5:10 NIV Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. – Isaiah 61:7 NLT
