Here is a tape by the band Dismay from Connecticut from 1994 containing early versions of the songs to be released on their cassette and CD, In Doubt, from 1995. There are issues with this one but uploading this to archive it as it would appear to have come from band member Jaime Lathrop to promote the band. So what's the issues you might ask? Well I answer, the right channel is all kinds of messed up. Lower volume and distorted which I assume occurred somewhere between the turntable and cassette deck when transferred onto tape 32 years ago. It is what it is, as you used what you had when trying to promote a band in the age before the internet was in full swing and honestly the distortion kinda adds a grittiness to the music in a good way. Only thing I did on this was adjust the right channel to match the volume of the left. Left all the turntable noise and breaks between the music exactly as it is on the tape. I did find a version on here (480p quality) that at first I thought the distortion wasn't there but upon closer listening I do hear it so maybe its supposed to be there? And the 1995 studio versions of • Untitled • Death Of A Planet • Uncivilization Band members: Cliff Brown - Guitar Chris Hyatt - Bass Ian Keeler - Vocals Tom Koskelowski - Drums Jaime Lathrop - Guitar 00:00 Untitled 02:27 Death Of A Planet 04:52 Uncivilization This tape comes from a collection of demo/independent band releases I bought over 30 years ago at a yard sale. 19 years ago I started converting them over to digital format to preserve them but life took over and only got a handful done. Many of the bands are from the New England area and there are some real gems in the collection. Dates range from the 1980's to early 1990's. Thanks for listening and hope you enjoy.
