I've been burnt before and I'm sure you have too, but that isn't stopping me from checking out yet another offshore offering direct from the far east, an Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge, manufactured by Shenzhen Wintact Electronics. Part # is WT130A. As the marketing materials state, this hand-held thickness gauge is "controlled by a microprocessor that can measure thickness and sound speed of various materials quickly, accurately, and without damage by ultrasonic measurement". It can be used to measure the thickness of metals like steel, aluminum, copper, and cast iron, as well as PVC, glass, ceramics, and so on.
