The illuminations across the Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho areas form a continuous route, creating an appealing walking course through the heart of Tokyo.Starting from Gyoko-dori Avenue, which connects Tokyo Station with the Imperial Palace, the illuminations continue along Marunouchi Naka-dori, which runs through the center of the Otemachi and Marunouchi office districts, and takes to Tokyo Midtown Hibiya in the Yurakucho area. Many people are unaware that the illuminations connect seamlessly from Marunouchi to Yurakucho, so please keep walking. Marunouchi Naka-dori Avenue, lined with retails and restaurants, is especially enjoyable for shopping and dining. Until Christmas, both Gyoko-dori Avenue and Marunouchi Naka-dori Avenue host Christmas markets. During this period, Marunouchi Naka-dori Avenue becomes a pedestrian-only street until late at night, drawing large crowds. Each year, the Marunouchi area features several installations themed around popular characters. In 2025, the displays are created in collaboration with Disney films. Tokyo Midtown Hibiya also presents illuminations inspired by Hibiya’s identity as a theater and cinema district, and in 2025, a Christmas tree themed after a currently released Disney film makes an appearance. The illuminations along Marunouchi Naka-dori Avenue and at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya run from mid-November to mid-February. Meanwhile, the illuminations and Christmas markets on Gyoko-dori Avenue are held from mid-November until Christmas.
