We visited Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo in Cuba in August 2024. As expected, it was very hot, with temperatures reaching 40°C during the day due to the high humidity. We had originally intended to book the Imperial next door, which we had thoroughly researched, but we mistakenly chose this hotel because of the similar names. Overall, I would rate it 2/5. The property feels quite dated, and the food was subpar, even by typical Cuban standards. The rooms also showed their age. We requested to be moved to the sister hotel next door, and fortunately, they had availability at the same price. The difference in the quality of the food and rooms was significant! A heads-up: if you're visiting in August, be sure to bring mosquito repellent. We didn’t know and regretted it.
