This 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Galaxie Skyliner is a beautifully frame-off restored retractable that is fully loaded and ready to roll. In 1959, Ford completely re-designed its product offerings. From the flatter front fenders housing the dual headlights and the flatter-looking hoods to the rear fenders with molded back-up lights, the '59 Ford was deemed one of the most beautiful Fords ever built, even winning the Gold Medal for Exceptional Styling at the Brussels World Fair. 1959 was also the first year for the top-of-the-line Galaxie trim available on Fords, having taken inspiration for the "Galaxie" moniker from all of the excitement surrounding the Space Race at the time. Of the nearly half million Galaxies produced by Ford in 1959, only 12,915 were the Skyliner model which makes this particular vehicle quite rare. This particular Galaxie Skyliner underwent a complete frame-off restoration and is in exceptional condition. Under the hood on this classic Ford retractable is a 352 Cubic Inch V8 engine with a Single 4 Barrel Carburetor, a combination that pushed out 300 horsepower back in 1959. The 352 Ford V8 is hooked up to a 3-Speed Cruise-O-Matic Automatic Transmission that makes driving this gorgeous '59 Skyliner an absolute joy. This particular '59 Galaxie is extremely well-optioned under the hood with factory power steering and upgraded power brakes with a dual master cylinder. The Torch Red and Colonial White two-tone exterior paint on this Skyliner is in stellar condition and is exactly how this Skyliner was ordered back in 1959. The matching Skyliner retractable convertible top is also finished in a matching Torch Red and goes up and down easily with the simple push of a button. This 1959 Skyliner sits on 4 wide whitewall radial tires with Thunderbird wheel covers with Sunray emblems, that give this Ford a truly classy look. A rear mounted continental kit gives this '59 Galaxie an elevated 50s exterior look. The interior in this 1959 Ford is stunning! The bench seats are covered in Torch Red and White Vinyl, along with the Black fabric inserts, all of which appear to be in terrific condition and are protected under plastic seat covers. The interior is also superbly well-optioned, with power windows that work great and Factory SelectAire air conditioning neatly tucked under the dash. The factory AM radio has since been upgraded to a newer stock-looking AM/FM system so that you can listen to all of your tunes while cruising down the road. The instrument cluster is in its stock configuration and features an 120 MPH Speedometer, temperature gauge, and gas gauge. This Galaxie Skyliner is also outfitted with dual side spotlights and an under-dash tissue dispenser, to complete that classic 50s look.
