Pierre Carter launched his paraglider from nearly 8,000m on the Everest's South Col on 15 May 2022 – and flew into the record books as one of only a handful of people to have flown from the mountain. Although he didn't launch from the summit, the flight saw him fly from the flanks of the world's highest mountain – something very few pilots have done before. This video captures him taking off from that remote spot. Shot by Samir Jung Thapa (clikman.com) and courtesy of Asian Trekking the two-minute clip shows him groundhandling the wing to a steady state before turning and launching off the side of the world's highest mountain. A full interview with Pierre is featured in the August 2022 edition of Cross Country Magazine, see: https://xcmag.com/issues/cross-countr... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- More journal than magazine, Cross Country aims to keep paraglider, paramotor and hang glider pilots fuelled with inspiration and information.
