Today’s Gospel shows us that a simple gesture – like anointing Jesus’ feet – can carry eternal depth. How many times do we fail to see the extraordinary in what is apparently ordinary? Mary saw in Jesus more than a teacher; she saw the Lord worthy of the best perfume, the most precious time, the most intimate surrender. While others only saw an ordinary meal, she saw the right moment to love without measure. Judas, caught up in the value of things, lost the value of the gesture. This is the lesson that changes everything: true love is revealed in the details that many ignore. A look, a care, a silent surrender. And you, what have you let slip by? Perhaps what seems small today is the chance to touch heaven. Learn from Mary: don’t wait for tomorrow to do something beautiful for God. The time to love is now. DO YOU NEED TO OVERCOME ANXIETY? The whole house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. 4Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was going to betray him, said, 5“Why wasn’t this perfume sold for three hundred pence and given to the poor?” 6Judas said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief; he took over the common purse and stole what was put in it. 7But Jesus said to him, “Leave her alone; she did this for the day of my burial. 8You will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.” 9When many of the Jews heard that Jesus was in Bethany, they came there, not only for Jesus’ sake but also to see Lazarus, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. 10Then the chief priests decided to kill Lazarus also, 11because many of the Jews were leaving because of him and were believing in Jesus. – The Word of the Savior
