Julian Bakery's first detailed Paleo Bread review of both Paleo Breads. Today, I'd like to speak to you a little bit about the Julian Bakery Paleo Bread™ you see showcased here on the blog. Consider this the Paleo Bread™ Review by Paleo Nate, so to speak. I happen to purchase my bread from the Julian Bakery in Oceanside, CA. You can actually buy these breads all over the country or even online at http://www.julianbakery.com/paleo-bread . If you absolutely can't wait to get your hands on these loaves, go to their bread locator page at julianbakery.com/locator to find the breads in your area. As of right now, they offer two types of Paleo Bread™, one made with blanched almond flour that you see in the picture on the right, and the other with coconut flour on the left. These two breads, as far as I know, are the only commercially sold Paleo Breads™ of their kind nationwide. Please comment below and correct me if I am wrong. First, I'll start with the Coconut Paleo Bread™ http://www.julianbakery.com/bread-pro... since you've seen it demonstrated so many times already in my posts. This bread is made with Purified Water, Organic Coconut Flour, Egg Whites, Psyllium, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, and a pinch of Baking Soda. That's it! It is organic, starch free, grain free, gluten free, yeast free, soy free, GMO free, but not taste free! It is ideal for any diet out there. Click on Paleo Bread™ - Coconut and you will see the details. Enough about what is in it. I want to address what it has done for me in this short period of time. I tried another brand of gluten free bread not too long ago when I first started thinking that maybe I was gluten intolerant. I hated it! It was like eating a brick and not to mention, it fell apart as soon as I lifted it to my mouth. Not a good experience at all. This amazing bread is soft, fluffy and does not crumble! You know what else? It fills me up, with just one slice! When I would eat whole wheat or rye bread on a sandwich in the past, I would have to eat 2-3 sandwiches to "feel" full at first. But then, a short time later, I would crash. Probably was the gluten or the sugars, who knows. All I know is that I felt sick. Another benefit of this Paleo Bread™ is that I can actually lose weight when eating it! And by that I mean, I can eat less calories throughout the day while still feeling satisfied. This is a no-brainer for me. And the funny part is you end up saving money as well because you aren't eating as much bread per meal so you don't have to constantly be buying loaves of non-nutritional bread. Now this bread has the same consistency and most of the same ingredients as the Coconut Paleo Bread™ but is NOT starch free. The Paleo Bread™ -Almond loaf contains six simple ingredients once again: Purified Water, Blanched Almonds, Egg Whites, Psyllium, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, and a pinch of Baking Soda. So you see, the only primary nutritional difference is the starch content. This bread is still soft and fluffy and does not break apart like the other brands of gluten free bread. This bread has 100 calories, one digestible carb, and 9g. of protein per slice.
