https://letsDesign.Thinkific.com/ In this video tutorial I'm gonna show you how to create a chain in solidworks such that it is engaged with all the sprockets in the assembly. in order for that to happen we need to use a Belt or chain feature followed by a chain component pattern which can be found in solidworks assembly tab. the sprockets need to have at least one degree of freedom in a way that the can rotate around their axis of revolution. the belt feature will engage or tie the sprockets together in a way that when you rotate one of them the other ones rotate with the driving sprocket. I will use the most common chain linkage condition in this solidworks tutorial which means there will be two chain members that will be engaged in with sprockets. however, you can choose other linkage options if you like and then follow the same process in this solidworks video tutorial. after we are done with setting up the sprockets and chain is created we will use a Rack pinion mate on the chain and sprockets to see how they will fit onto each other in the assembly.
