The King of Fighters XI: Iori Yagami Combo Video! PLEASE READ!!! The red headed rival to Kyo Kusanagi is here to enact his revenge on him in this King of Fighters XI Combo Video featuring Iori Yagami! Synopsis: Iori Yagami... King of Fighters mainstay and very powerful character when in the right hands. His move set hasn't really changed that much over the years, but he's still a force to be reckoned with. His Forward+A, A command normal has changed a bit, making it so you have to confirm on the second hit. So his classic Standing C, Forward+A confirms won't work. Instead, use Standing B. Other than that, nothing much has changed. He still has the Maiden Masher and Bloom of the Wolf. I'm not sure when he acquired Bloom of the Wolf, but it's still here. His pressure is great, and his combos do good metered and meterless damage. He's a strong character and a powerful character to have on any position, similar to Kyo Kusanagi, his rival. Basic information: Iori's buttons are good, as they've always been. Standing B is a good poke to be using consistently, as well as Far Standing C and D. Far Standing C can cancel into specials and supers if timed well. Forward+A, A is mainly used to connect into specials after chaining it after Standing B. Forward+B is his old reliable overhead. You can combo into now, but I'm not sure why you'd want to. Maybe to do some frame traps, I guess. Iori's DP+P is a great move. Good anti-air, as well as his main super cancel tool if you use the C version and cancel on the second hit. QCF+P: the standard ground projectile, similar to Terry Bogard's Power Wave and Kyo Kusanagi's QCB+P. Good for block strings and ending combos that keep the opponent in the neutral. Iori's QCB+Px3, commonly called daisy chains, are his bread and butter pressure tools, as well as causing hard knockdowns on the third rep. Good meterless combo ender. HCB+K is a good knockdown tool. Combo into with Standing C. After the knockdown, this move leaves you right next to your opponent, allowing for tricky mix-ups and strategies. Iori's Scum Gale (HCB, F+P) is a command grab. But not just any command grab... This move has Iori grab his opponent by the neck and swing them around to the other side. Good for getting out of the corner and also good for setting up combos if your opponent is still blocking your block strings. Very useful move, but don't be predictable. Bloom of the Wolf (QCFx2+P) is Iori's only super that causes hard knockdowns. Use this if you want some fairly good one meter damage with a hard knockdown. Maiden Masher (QCF, HCB+P) is Iori's iconic super. Iori raises his hands into the air and yells "Asobi no wari da!" (It's time to end this!) If it connects, Iori lands several swipes and strikes on his opponent, then grabs them, and causes and explosion with some flames. This is Iori's main damage tool and Dream Cancel tool. This move does not cause hard knockdown. It can however be Dream Cancelled into his LDM, Trinity Two (QCF, HCB+E). This move is an overhead and can be Dream Cancelled into. Iori is fully invincible during the forward claw swipe into the grab. This isn't a command grab LDM, but can only be comboed into via Maiden Masher. Cancel into it right after Iori says "Sakebe!" which translates to "Scream!". This LDM does a good amount of damage. Extra Notes: Iori's "Taco" is an important move in his arsenal. Back+B in the air is how it's done. This is mainly used for cross-ups and combo starters. You can also use this to increase the distance of your back-dash. The taco takes some time to get used to, so practice the timing.
