Growing up gay with religious parents makes the idea of coming out feel confusing, scary, and sometimes impossible. For a lot of queer people from religious backgrounds, coming out isn’t just about honesty it’s about safety. In this video, I talk openly about coming out as gay to religious parents, and the things I wish someone had told me earlier. I share honest advice for people who feel ready to come out, as well as for those who aren’t in a safe position to do so yet. I talk about testing the waters, coming out to one person first, protecting your independence, and accepting that not everyone will understand or accept you straight away. I also talk about why not coming out can be an act of self-protection, why staying closeted doesn’t make you fake, and how your sexuality is still valid even if no one knows. This video isn’t about attacking religion or family. It’s about acknowledging the reality of being gay in a religious environment, and giving reassurance to anyone who feels guilty, stuck, or behind for not coming out yet. If you’re gay and religious, gay and closeted, or struggling with when or whether to come out, I hope this video makes you feel seen and understood. Watch until the end if you’ve ever felt like you had to choose between honesty and safety. If this resonated with you, don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe. I post honest videos about my life, my experiences, and growing up gay in a religious background. #ComingOut #GayAndReligious #ReligiousParents #GrowingUpGay #Closeted #LGBTQStories #GayExperience #LGBTQYouth #Gaymuslim
