Sanjana and Sagar Ganachari, a couple from Hubballi, were overjoyed as their dream of having another child came true against all odds. In September, Sanjana was admitted to Sparsh Hospital after complications arose during her pregnancy. At just 20 weeks, her cervix weakened, and amniotic fluid started leaking. Doctors managed to delay delivery until 25 weeks, but they knew the chances of survival were slim. Taking on the challenge, they performed an emergency delivery, and the baby, weighing just 840 grams, was placed in intensive care. For a month, the newborn was kept in the NICU on a ventilator, receiving specialized treatment to support the development of vital organs such as the brain and lungs. Gradually, the baby gained strength and started breastfeeding. By the time of discharge, the baby's weight had increased to 1.6 kg, bringing hope and happiness to the family. The couple, married for 12 years, had been waiting for this moment since the birth of their first child a decade ago.
