After years of her getting appointed a new lawyer, then that lawyer withdrawing for various reasons, the judge in this case has finally said, "enough is enough." Sarah Boone, also known as the Suitcase Murder Case, defendant Sarah Boone is accused of murdering her boyfriend Jorge Torres in February 2020. Despite the damaging evidence of the alleged crime, her trial has been postponed many times due to issues the defendant has had with each of her eight attorneys--seven of which were appointed by the court. Each time one has withdrawn, she's been appointed a new lawyer, and the trial has been postponed. She now has to continue pro se (representing herself). Trial is scheduled at this point still for October 7, 2024.
