It is a basic eCommerce function. Shopify doesn't do it natively though, so you need an app. As of March 2024 - Shopify's own "Shopify Product Reviews" app will be deprecated - so if you were using it, now you need to choose a new reviews app. JudgeMe and Loox are the two leading apps in the space. So I decided to compare them. Obviously, I couldn't cover all the features of each app in 12 minutes. Here I am simply showing the core features that are necessary for any product reviews app. But even here you can see a difference. Loox is the more premium option. It is easier to set up and use. But JudgeMe has almost all the same features for new stores on a budget. If I were to guess, the reason stems from the company culture. JudgeMe seems like a "developer-driven" company and Loox is a "design-driven" company. Disclaimer: I have an affiliate link for Loox, but I did my best to provide a balanced review.
