A handy little stock review to sum up any DCD2 album to come out now or in the future. This applies to all of them. FOR PRE-ESTABLISHED ACTS: On their latest record since their new resurgence in popularity, this band/artist goes for a much poppier sound, and succeeds about as often as they fail. FOR NEW SOLO ACTS: On their latest album/EP, this "alt"-pop singer-songwriter shows that while they're serviceable as guests on other DCD2 artists' hooks, they don't quite have the personality to stand out on their own. Top 5 tracks: Genius genre fusion that's never expanded on Song so over-the-top it becomes a guilty pleasure Song with actual emotion in it beyond macho bravado Song about comparing a relationship to a drug Shallow but catchy-as-hell lead single Skippables: Song so immature it makes the frontman look worse as a person Radio Disney fodder Lesbian gimmick masking as a progressive message Score: 6.5/10.
