Maddie can’t imagine doing anything else or living anywhere else. As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse at Children’s Colorado, she gets to be with families in their most exciting moments at work and explore mountains and hot springs outside of work. Her first experience in our NICU came through a high school program and she knew she was destined to become a neonatal nurse. Seven years later, she’s still excited to help babies and families every day. Follow a day in the life of Maddie as she cares for our smallest patients and discusses what she loves about our culture. Maddie discusses why she found her calling as a NICU nurse and how her manager is helping her make neonatal care better for Spanish-speaking families.
