Recently I picked up a copy of You Nakai's Reminded By The Instruments: David Tudor's Music and read the chapter on Neural Synthesis. After studying the matrix diagrams and reading about the way these pieces were made, I sat down and made a smaller version of the patch diagram on my modular. This is pure no-input mixing colored heavily by patching two matrix mixers as mulitple "Neurons" with various wave shapers as the Non-Linear Transfer Functions. This is my first exploration of this instrument setup.
