This gear housing kit includes input and output seals for the lower unit, as well as shift shaft seals for your Mercury outboard along with a new gasket for the shift shaft housing. With the lower unit removed, if you’re replacing one seal you might consider changing all of them. If they are all the same age, they are probably all in similar condition. John will show you how to remove the housing, which will allow us to get all of the old seals and O-rings out. Then, we’ll replace the seals and get the housing-- along with a new gasket-- back onto the lower unit.
