Our DIY modern deck is coming together—it’s time to install Trex decking! We’re using Coastal Bluff Trex composite decking with the Trex Hideaway hidden fastener system, making for a clean, screw-free look. Anna takes the lead on 99% of the install, and while things go smoothly overall, we run into two common issues: 🛠️ Challenges We Encountered & Fixed: ✅ Cupped Boards: We had to trim 8-12” off some boards to ensure a proper fit. ✅ Color Variations: Our 12’ and 16’ Trex boards didn’t match perfectly, so we feathered them in for a seamless look. After solving these issues, we cut all the deck boards flush using our Makita Track Saw for a precise, professional finish. The final result?
