What makes the Llangollen Canal so great is, that it's an easy canal, there's not hundreds of locks, only 21 over its 44-mile course, and only two of them are above Grindley Brook. So that's a 30-mile pound with only two locks, once we get through those locks we cruise 12 miles of uninterrupted, canal. weaving through beautiful countryside, making our way to the lovely town of Ellesmere, through its tunnel, and alongside the stunning Blake mere lake. This time of year the Llangollen canal goes quiet, but there are still a few boats about, and sod's law we meet one in the worse possible place!
