Hello everyone, welcome to SA Today on 12 January 2026. We begin today's video with bridges flooded in the Kruger National Park in the Limpopo Province of South Africa today. Heavy rain and flooding are forecast for other parts of Kruger Park today. The low bridges are expected to flood and no crossing allowed. Heavy rain was observed today around Tzaneen and Hoedspruit, with flooding of the Letaba River. It's a busy day on the beach at Strand and a windy day for kite flying at Bloubergstrand. We stop at the Klipwerf Padstal in Calvinia and the Bagdad Café is closed on a Monday. Big rain storm along the N4 near Middelburg today, and we show you more from across SA Today. The weather forecast across South Africa today is as follows: Today brings dangerous weather conditions across several provinces, with the most serious concerns in eastern Limpopo Province and Mpumalanga Province where torrential rains could trigger life-threatening floods, mudslides, and rockfalls through Tuesday, particularly around Bushbuckridge and Mopani where communities may need to evacuate. Heavy downpours will also drench the escarpment areas and spread into north-eastern KwaZulu-Natal Province with severe thunderstorms packing damaging winds, hail, and frequent lightning strikes. While the rain pounds the northeast, the rest of the country faces a different threat as a persistent heatwave bakes most of the Eastern Cape Province through Tuesday and sends temperatures soaring across the Central Karoo, creating extremely dangerous fire conditions in the Northern Cape Province, parts of the Eastern Cape Province, and the Central Karoo where any spark could ignite rapidly spreading blazes. We will try and upload a video for you every day or the third day from somewhere around South Africa (SA) where we travel. We live in the platteland but try and see as much as we can of South Africa. Join us on a journey as we explore the beauty of South Africa through daily video captures. From breathtaking landscapes to vibrant cities, we showcase the diversity and charm of our country. Subscribe and come along for the adventure! We want to show our viewers as many places as we can across the country worth visiting. South Africa is a large country, and only some locals know where all these places are, we therefore add a map that we created to show where the video was captured more or less. We also try and provide some history on many of the towns, museums and events on that day in South Africa. We take pride in bringing original and captivating videos that will leave you in awe. Also in this video, is traffic at Beaufort West from Cape Town side. A queue more than 10 km going into town. We end the video with a short video of Gordons Bay in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. #southafrica #satoday #flood #krugerpark #letabariver #flooding #limpopo #today #southafricatoday
