Ivo Fabijan Mrvelj - Strice Ivane (Ivo Fabijan Mrvelj - Ivo Fabijan Mrvelj - Andreja Basa) This song is about the songwriter singing about his uncle as an Ustasi soldier during WW2. Before we have protest comments, emails, and/or newspaper articles referring to this video clip, I must stress this point. In recent times there has been a campaign by Serbian Chetniks who I might add were also a fascist organization. This has been proven by, not Croatian scholars but learned Serbian scholars, Doctors and professors. ref: http://www.croradio.net/cet.htm ""The Serbian chetniks of Draza Mihailovic were represented as fighters against the occupier, while in fact they were the allies of the Nazi fascists in Yugoslavia....The documents in this collection indicate clearly and unequivocally that the Chetniks collaborated with the occupiers, both in the military and political sphere, as well as in the domain of economic activity, intelligence and propaganda... (source: the Serbian scholars, Dr. Jovan Marjanovic & Mihail Stanisic, The collaboration of Draza Mihailovic's Chetniks with the enemy forces of occupation, 1976.)" Why does the world choose to ignore these proven historical facts? and also included in this equation is the current Croatian government and some newspapers and journalists in Croatia to discredit anyone and everyone who was Involved with the Ustasa army during WW2. In all wars throughout history there have been things done that we as citizens of this world in the 21st century will never let happen again. I must honestly stress not all Ustasi soldiers were criminals. It was a volunteer army of Croats. During WW2 there were atrocities committed on all sides of the conflict ... even on the side of the allies (America,Great Britain,Russia). The Jewish lobby argue and lobby to discredit the Ustasi soldiers. But the Jewish Lobby today must ask itself some questions before pointing fingers at all Croatian people. Was it fair to bomb innocent civilians recently in Lebanon? Is it fair to oppress Palestinian people and treat them like animals? The moral of what I am writing here is that NO WAR IS GOOD, WAR IS BAD! and for the sake of mankind we should learn from the past, and not let history repeat itself, as it has been doing in recent years. One line in this song is the true reality about the Croatian people ...... It goes for Ustasi, or Croatians who defended their homeland in the recent Croatian homeland war.. I quote Ivo fabijan Mrvelj and I will translate it into English for you. "Za svoj narod se borio Tude nije nikada trazio" English translation... " For his people he fought and died, he never looked for or invaded any foreign land" Ivica Fonti www.croradio.net Strice Ivane - Ivo Fabijan Mrvelj Moj stric je bio Ustasa dobar covjek kazu svi Njegovu slike jos na srcu nosim Cetrdeset i pete pao je za Hrvatsku Njegovim se imenom ponosim Za svoj narod se borio Tude nije nikada trazio Strice Ivane opet su nas napali Cujem tu taj bombi i granata Strice Ivane mi cemo pobjediti Jer jos ima srca jos ima Hrvata Ivo Fabijan Mrvelj http://www.croradio.net
