India is changing fast — technology, education, and development are moving ahead — but somewhere deep within, our mindset is still trapped in the old walls of caste and discrimination. In this video, I talk about some recent incidents that expose how caste bias and social inequality still exist even in the 21st century. Recently, I came across heartbreaking reports while reading The Hindu newspaper daily for the last few days. One news spoke of an IPS officer from Haryana, belonging to the Dalit community, who allegedly ended his life after being mentally tortured and bullied by his upper-caste senior officers. Another report told the story of a Dalit man who was brutally beaten to death. And in Katni, Madhya Pradesh, a man from an upper caste made a Dalit man drink water from his shoe — an act that shows how cruel human mentality can become when poisoned by ego and caste superiority.
