SEND ME A TIP! -- https://ko-fi.com/triplebmusic or BUY ME A COFFEE! -- https://www.buymeacoffee.com/triplebm... Originally composed by: Yoshito Sekigawa, Shoh Murakami, Yoshiaki Kimura, Hiroki Morishita, Fumihiro Isobe Arranged by: Triple B Music Lead Guitars/Rhythm Guitars/Bass Performed by: Triple B Music ------------------- Now here is an arrangement I've been wanting to do pretty much since I started doing VGM covers! I never ended up doing it because I didn't think I could quite do it justice. The "solo" section with the easter eggs and the super heavy part right after were the first ideas I had for it, but I wasn't sure that I was good enough at playing yet for it, and mixing to get the super heavy sound I wanted. I think I was able to pull it off though! I also dropped the key by a half-step from G minor to F# minor, to make use of my new 8-string guitar. My capo unfortunately doesn't fit the neck very well, otherwise I would have just kept it in the same key. But I think it still ended up sounding great, and makes my version unique. Speaking of easter eggs, that solo section references four other Mario games, and there's a theme associated with them! Can you figure out what the references are, and what the theme connecting them all is? I submitted this arrangement to Dwelling of Duels last month, since it was Mario month there. I ended up getting 12th out of 39th place, which was pretty surprising because of how rushed the mix was for that version. I did a lot of extra things to the mix for this final version, like compressing the kick, snare, and toms together, but not compressing the full drum group so the cymbals don't get squashed. On the production side, I also found a new bass tone I really like! I added some distortion to it, and with my new-found skill of using parallel effects, got it to sound a lot richer and spicier than my old tone, and retain the heavy low sound I had already. I also used an octave plugin for some parts to get it to sound better in the mix with my 8-string guitar. For those sections, I actually played a bit closer to the neck (as I also did for the video), as it helps the octave plugin actually know what note I'm playing when I'm playing the lower notes on the bass (otherwise it picks up all sorts of overtones and gets confused... neat tip I found on a random youtube video lol) ------------------- Please check out my other web spaces here: https://linktr.ee/triple_b_music ------------------- Find my music in other places!
