PM Hun Manet returns home from ASEAN Summit in Jakarta

Prime Minister Hun Manet returned to Phnom Penh at 11 pm on 7 September after successfully concluding a fruitful visit to Jakarta, Indonesia. Mr Hun Manet and his wife Pich Chanmony led a delegation to attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related summits in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 4. Mr Hun Manet met with several leaders, including Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US Vice-President Kamala Harris. He also met with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, and had a friendly and cordial conversation. After Monday’s opening ceremony of the 43rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, Mr Hun Manet met host Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo on the sidelines. The two leaders discussed the past close cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of economy, trade, human resource training and the fight against terrorism and cross-border crimes. The ASEAN Summit and Related Summits are an important forum for Southeast Asian countries and dialogue partners to discuss issues. In particular, the search for opportunities in terms of politics, economy and other social issues.
