Join me on a quiet riverside hike through the Bald Cypress, Cedar Sage, and River Access Trails at Guadalupe River State Park in the Texas Hill Country. This stretch of the Guadalupe River tells its story slowly. Along the trail, we observe native wildlife like a Texas Shiner moving through the shallows, a fox squirrel racing between trees, and a turkey vulture perched overhead. I spend time with some of the park’s ancient bald cypress trees, estimating their age and taking in their size, structure, and resilience. We also look closely at recent flood damage along the riverbanks — a reminder of how powerful and shaping this river can be — and talk about the Tonkawa Tribe, who once lived along these waters and relied on the river and surrounding landscape for survival. This hike blends natural history, wildlife observation, and Texas heritage, offering a deeper look at what makes Guadalupe River State Park more than just a place to walk. 📍 Location: Guadalupe River State Park — Texas Hill Country 🥾 Trails: Bald Cypress, Cedar Sage, & River Access 🗓️ Filmed: August 2025 If you enjoy Texas river hikes, Hill Country wildlife, and learning the stories behind the land, consider liking the video and subscribing for more quiet adventures across Texas.
