Join us as we explore a unique vertical family home designed by Amunt Architekten in the historic city of Tübingen, Germany. Positioned on a compact, south-facing slope with panoramic views of Tübingen Castle, this sustainable house responds intelligently to strict building regulations and limited space. Built entirely from prefabricated solid wood, the 278-square-meter home provides passively heated living space for a family of six. The project focuses on energy efficiency, spatial flexibility, and sustainable use of materials, while embracing a minimalist and refined interior aesthetic. With its sculptural, kinked hipped roof and tower-like structure, the home cleverly maximizes interior volume and preserves the neighbor's view of the castle. From prefabrication techniques to clever space planning, this is a perfect example of how small plots can inspire bold architectural innovation.
