Join American Experience for a virtual conversation on America's history of discrimination against Asian Americans. Featuring clips from American Experience's documentary The Chinese Exclusion Act, the discussion will explore the experiences of Chinese immigrants when they arrived in the U.S. in the mid-19th century, examine how anti-Asian sentiment has continued into the present day, and discuss ways that the AAPI community, their allies, and elected officials can work to put an end to racial violence and discrimination in the wake of the tragic Atlanta spa shootings. #StopAsianHate Featured guests include: Erika Lee - Award-winning historian and author, Regents Professor of History and Asian American Studies, and Director of the Immigration History Research Center at the University of Minnesota. Author of America for Americans: A History of Xenophobia in America.
