Chasing A&R 5830 On Its First Revenue Run With Aberdeen & Rockfish: From Old Yard To River Terminal

Three Friday's ago on June 23rd, 2023, I decided to head out to Aberdeen & Rockfish because I heard a certain fresh unit was supposedly going to be on it from the previous day. Sure enough, when I pull up to the tracks, I see A&R already sitting in Old Yard after just arriving from Raeford, NC. The stretch from Aberdeen, NC to Raeford, NC I've heard is basically a shuttle route for locomotives to come in and out of headquarters as well as the shops and back. Since A&R 5830 was last previously seen sitting in Aberdeen at Headquarters, I can assume they brought it from there to Raeford, got their train for that day, hooked it up to A&R 405, and pulled the AX23 into Fayetteville. I only had to glance into Old Yard to immediately recognize the clean unit that was up front. So I pulled off Russell Street as fast as I could before they pulled into downtown and got my gear out, well my camcorders, my main tripod, and DSLR that is. It started to pull out before I could get everything out so I rushed over to the crossing to start recording. And that's where the video starts of me walking up to the tracks. That is today's upload!
