⭐️On 22 June 1941, Germany and the Axis Powers invaded the Soviet Union, starting the Eastern Front of World War 2. In early July a joint Romanian-German offensive was launched codenamed Operation Munchen. ⭐️This attack was successful, incorporating the former Romanian territories of Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina in Romania plus the Transnistrian Governorate from Dniester to Southern Bug. ⭐️In early August the Soviet port of Odessa was put under siege by the Romanian 4th Army and elements of the German 11th Army.
