Operational energy is one of the largest contributors to building related carbon emissions and a core focus of the AIA 2030 Commitment. This session begins with a clear overview of the 2030 Commitment and what is required versus optional for operational energy reporting, with an emphasis on starting simply and building consistency over time. A 2030 Working Group member will outline key reporting concepts and available support. Firm led case studies will then share real world workflows, tools, and lessons learned, including how energy modeling informs design decisions and Texas specific challenges.
