Uganda's Broken Education System

In colonial times and subsequent years Uganda earned itself a firm position as a centre of academic excellence where a number of regional leaders came to attain a good education. Among these were Mwai Kiabaki of Kenya, Julius Nyerere and Benjamin Mkapa both of Tanzania who attained degree from Makerere university. In the recent past, this foundation helped the country attract a number of foreign students from the region and beyond seeking good education. The country however seems to have ceded this position to its neighbours.
