Current and novel treatment approaches for first-line EGFR-m NSCLC

David Lee, MBBS, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, comments on treatment strategies for patients with EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in the first line setting. Single agent EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) are the standard of care, but access to newer generations of TKIs remain an issue in middle/lower income countries. The approval of the recently approved bispecific antibody amivantamab and addition of chemotherapy assessed in the FLAURA2 trial (NCT04035486) both represent novel strategies as well.
