Upon his release, Mool returns to the lands of the Caldwell family, where he is falsely recognized as a killer by the patriarch, John Caldwell. Mool intends to seek revenge but discovers the true conspiracy involves his own half-brother, Alan, who framed Mool and ran a scheme to murder Caldwell, motivated by Mool's illegitimacy. Mool must clear his name and confront the forces that stripped him of his memory and freedom. The film marks the directorial debut of Enzo Barboni, credited here under the pseudonym E. B. Clucher, who would later achieve major commercial success with the comedy-western Trinity series. Barboni replaced Ferdinando Baldi early in production.
