“Live At The Resort” is a collection of acoustic re-imagining’s of Harrison Kipner’s newest material. The new arrangements were lead by Marc Walloch, who used a cappella’s of the songs to flip them on their heads as a way of digging deeper into what the original lyrics and melodies could mean in a new context. Harrison called on one of his favorite producers Stefan Mac, to engineer and produce fully live takes of the songs, and a few of his favorite musicians to accompany them. Dane Sandborg, a lifelong partner of Harrison’s, layed the foundation on his bass. Andrew Ampaya, a talented artist, writer and producer played keys and sang harmony. Levi Matulis played the drums with so much ease and comfort that they abandoned the metronome entirely, making each take entirely unique. And finally Marc Walloch played guitars and all kinds of other bit and bobs with his pedals and loops, peppering the arrangements with color and glue. The performances were artfully directed and captured by Mars Adriano, and magically lit by Sam Mosco. All in all, these live acoustic renditions of Harrison’s songs, are amongst his favorite musical performances yet.
