The snow has just started, chain controls are already in place on I-80 and numerous vehicles are already stuck and sliding all over the roads. In Truckee, Ca CalDot employees check to make sure cars have chains on the tires before allowed to proceed down the interstate. Trucks that do not have chains or are installing chains are already starting to back up. Plows try to keep the interstate cleared before the heavy snow gets more consistent and they will likely close the interstate.
