DOORS isn't just a horror game; it’s a psychological endurance test. After spending 40 minutes navigating through 99 rooms of pure tension, losing at the final hurdle—Room 100—due to a split-second lapse in judgment is a feeling I wouldn't wish on any gamer. Here is my review of the experience from the perspective of a player who fell at the very finish line. 1. The Atmosphere: A Masterclass in Tension From the moment you step into the hotel, DOORS separates itself from typical Roblox horror games. It doesn't rely on cheap, constant jumpscares. Instead, it builds dread. The Soundscape: Every creak, thunderclap, and flickering light is a mechanical cue. You learn to listen for the distorted screech of Rush or the vacuum-like hum of Ambush. The Variety: Each room feels distinct yet claustrophobic, keeping you on edge because the rules change depending on which entity decides to hunt you next. 2. Room 100: The Ultimate Hubris Check The final room is a complete shift in gameplay. You aren't just running anymore; you are playing a deadly game of hide-and-seek with Figure while trying to repair the elevator circuit. The "Carelessness" Factor: This is where I failed. After surviving the intense library at Room 50 and the high-speed chases of Seek, you enter Room 100 with a false sense of security. The Mistake: I got greedy. I thought I knew Figure’s pathing well enough to sprint for a fuse. I underestimated its hearing range for just one second. The Consequence: One misplaced footstep, a failed heartbeat mini-game, or an accidental "Shift" key press, and it's game over. There are no checkpoints. There is no mercy. Seeing the "You Died" screen at the literal end of the game is a unique kind of pain. "In DOORS, the greatest entity isn't Figure or Seek—it's your own impatience." 3. Visuals and Mechanics For a Roblox title, the lighting and polish are industry-standard. The way the screen shakes and the heartbeat audio pulses when an entity is near creates a genuine physical response in the player. The mechanics are simple enough to learn but punishing enough to keep the stakes high. Final Verdict: Is the Heartbreak Worth It? Absolutely. Even though failing at Room 100 due to a silly mistake made me want to uninstall the game, it’s that exact "punishing" nature that makes DOORS so addictive. It rewards mastery and punishes arrogance. Pros: Incredible sound design, unique monster mechanics, and high replayability with friends. Cons: Losing 40 minutes of progress to a minor mechanical slip-up can feel devastating. Personal Rating: 9/10 (I’d give it a 10, but my ego is still bruised from that Room 100 fail).
